Wrapped around an extended parable about a child, lost from his real parents and found and raised by a couple completely at odds with his heritage (his real family are renowned acrobats), this book shows us that the Gospel Jesus shared maybe different from the one we have heard. Each of us is born separated from our true Father and suffers from the ingrained habits of our "false parents" and even when we come into God's family, we often find barriers stand in the way of us becoming who God intends us to be. Bob Hamp encourages us to look and think again about everything we thought we knew. He explains why so many of us remain in captivity and shows us how we can access true freedom.

The first edition of this book was life-changingly spectacular. I read and consulted it so often that I had my copy spiral-bound. Can "life-changingly spectacular" be improved upon? YES, as it turns out! This revised edition has been edited for improved readability and has additional content that is crucial for fully understanding a life of freedom. On top of that, a study guide at the end of each chapter further facilitates growth on a personal or collective level.
Each chapter flows easily into the next (which makes the book even more difficult to put down!) As a result, I found it easier to maintain a mental grasp of both the overall theme and the individual concepts that contribute to it. There is an entirely new section on "prisoner thinking" which is a valuable addition to a book centered on becoming free. Additionally, Bob takes a few pages to expound on obstacles to our ways of knowing. He uses helpful examples to explain expectations and self-effort and how both can be impediments to freedom.
I have yet to experience a study guide like the one in this book. I am very skilled at collecting, recalling, and repeating information. This skill did not and could not serve me as I considered and answered the questions at the end of each chapter. Mere information is not what this book is about. It is clear these questions were crafted with the intent to change thinking and I am thinking differently as a result!

Think Differently Live Differently Keys to a Life of Freedom (Audible Audio Edition) Bob Hamp Thinking Differently Press Books Reviews
This was an awesome read. It helped me to see myself as God sees me and to know that my freedom is not based on my performance but solely understanding the love God has for me and to know HE only wants what's best for me, which is to walk in who HE created me to be and not accept the lies of the enemy. Thank you Brother Bob for being obedient in writing this book. This will be a resource for me to continuously revisit to keep the enemy on the run.
I bought this book after I seeing Bob when he appeared on Glenn Beck. My husband and I read it aloud together during our morning devotions and were really moved to action by it. We all have obstacles to freedom in our lives, as explained in the book, but Bob's most profound insight that was our false definition of freedom is keeping us enslaved. We are now seeking, with God's help, the freedom He has for us. (Note to Bob I hope you don't mind us calling you that, since we have never met, but reading your book aloud together really got us feeling we knew you. Might have been your lively and compelling writing style, too!)
This is an amazing book. True to Gal 51, and as William Wallace said- "Freedom"!!! Thanks Bob. Miss you at Gateway, btw. Still remember you in one of your classes where you said, "Now I know you all aren't rocket scientists...", and I wanted to bust out and say, "But I am...." Hope all is well, buddy. G
I've bought 4 copies plus the audio book version and also the study guide. I've only kept one copy and the study guide. 3 copies I've given away as gifts and the audio book also as a gift. I've never given books as gifts, but I had to for this one. On top of it all, this book wasn't a book I went and bought for myself because it 'caught' my eye but rather someone suggested it to me, so just because I wanted to please her I bought it and well I love it!
I'm not good with cliff notes, so I can't summarize this book, but trust me it is a must read!!!!!!
I have read many inspiring books, theological books, bible teaching, but none compare to this book. Next to the Bible this book holds more truth than I have found in other books. A true walk into the life giving Spirit. An easy to understand explanation of our current human condition, an easy to understand explanation to reconnect with our original design. I recommend it to anyone still looking for answers.
If I had but one literary wish, I would instantly make all the "Christian self-help" books disappear from all bookstore shelves and attempt to rebuild a Pastoral & Counseling library from scratch.
What would I include in that rebuilding? For starters, this book, "Think Differently, Live Differently" by Bob Hamp to be sure.
I think by now, with the books I have loved and reviewed, that to many of you, I am seen an Intellect in regards to my instincts in worshipping our dear, sweet King. That definitely does not make me smarter, per se--it is just a preference in the way I express worship as compared to the musician or liturgy or nature or anything else.) That is to say, my sweetest, loveliest moments with him as always pouring over a thick, rich theological book opened alongside the Bible with a clickable highlighter in one hand and a way to take notes standing at the ready. I do love theology and doctrine. I do love sitting and getting to know my God as much as I can. I love sitting and resting in his promises to me which can never be taken back or broken. From that studying, reading, and writing, my heart swells in thanksgiving and rejoices in who He is and what He has done.
And I have cried rivers of tears of joy over deep and profound theological and doctrinal points. However, it is not theology and doctrine that saves me. It is by the gracious will of the Father through the blood-drained, broken body of Christ Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit that I am saved from Him, to Him to worship Him by enjoying Him forever.
I say all of that to say how much it makes my heart glad to read this book by Bob Hamp and have Scripture and its doctrines leap off the page in such a terrific, joyful, profound and obvious ways. So now that I know the author is working from a solid Biblical foundation, I can go on to not only enjoy this book, but take in practical application of this books, which I would sum up as
"As children of God, we are to take hold and embrace our freedom that has been given to us by all that He has done for us and in us."
This, I believe, goes way beyond freedom from slavery to sin and this definitely goes way beyond being saved by God's just wrath. This is being saved to holy and righteous Triune God whose "presence is the fullness of joy and at his right hand are pleasures forevermore."--Psalm 1611 Some Christians might be able to quote that Scripture. Fewer Christians still have tasted and savor what it is like to walk in freedom and be set free from generational curses, vows, judgments, witchcraft (attempting to be in control of the future), unforgiveness, bitterness, unhealthy connections, and demonic influences and the overall nature that has been marred, crippled and broken by sin and its effects.
Christ has not come into our world to go against what is natural. Christ has come into our broken world to restore what been broken, to make new what is old, to make alive what is dead and to heal what is hurt. Every tear will be wiped away from our cheeks and we will no longer be sad and unsatisfied once we get to see His lovely face. But that only comes in believing in Christ and believing in what He says. In that belief, we are now counted as the Father's sons and daughters, bore witness by the Holy Spirit himself. In that alone, we have the freedom within His glory and His love for us.
That is the Kingdom of God. It was at the cross of Christ that set a mark in our history in which the shattering of the cosmos, the brokenness of this world, and the death of His children would all be reversed against the original destiny of despair, destruction, and death and headed back to Him in righteousness peace, faith, hope and love.
For anybody wanting to know practically the Kingdom of God and its righteousness, this book is for you. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
